Lake Fishing in the Peace River & Alaska Hwy Region
Northern British Columbia, Canada

Welcome to the Peace River Alaska Highway region of British Columbia. Located in the Northeast portion of the province, between the Rocky Mountain Foothills on the west and the Alberta Plains on the east, this is a land of diverse and fantastic beauty.

The rivers and lakes offer anglers world class fishing for Lake Char, Northern Pike, Walleye, Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden, Rainbow Trout and Mountain Whitefish. Wildlife is abundant and visitors are often treated to views of Grizzly and Black bears, deer, moose, caribou, and bald eagles.

The Peace River Alaska Highway is truly a four season paradise. Spring, summer and fall months provide vacationers great camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing and hunting opportunities. While the winter months are enjoyed by skiers, snowmobilers and ice-fishermen.

From endless hours of summer daylight to the incredible winter displays of the Northern Lights, the friendly people of the Peace River Alaska Highway region of B.C. welcome you to visit this spectacular country.

Pelly Lake - Approximately 400km (250mi) north of Prince George and approximately 225km (140mi) north of Mackenzie. This is a fly-in only area.

Williston Lake - Williston Lake in the Peace River Alaska Highway region of Northern British Columbia, is the largest lake in BC. This man-made lake was created when the W.A.C. Bennett Dam was built in 1968. Today, Williston Lake, located near Hudaon's Hope and Mackenzie, offers boating and fishing for Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Kokanee, Dolly Varden & Northern Pike.
